Hey Dear,
I am feeling low and do not have anyone to talk to. So here's a song for her I wrote.
Saw you downtown, just the other day,
Laughing louder, in a brand new way.
Remembered when, that smile was mine,
But it's him you hold, guess you're doing fine.
I see you've found a new beginning,
In his eyes, there's always glistening.
I wish you nothing but the best,
But deep inside, my heart’s still in unrest.
Hope he loves you, like I couldn't do,
Hope he's everything, that I couldn't be for you.
Even if it hurts to see you moving on,
I want you happier, even if I'm gone.
You've got that look, that I once knew,
The one that said, our love was true.
Now he gets those looks, those whispered words,
Feels like our story, is lost in time's forwards.
Do you think of us? Or is it all erased?
The memories, the promises, our loving days?
Even if you're better off, it's clear to see,
The past is where, our love will always be.
Hope he sees you, like I used to do,
Finds the galaxies, hidden inside of you.
Even if it tears me apart to move along,
I wish you happier, with a bond that's strong.
If time could rewind, would we change our fate?
Or was our love destined, to disintegrate?
I'll cherish the moments, as lessons learned,
But our chapter’s over, the pages are turned.
Hope he loves you, more than words can say,
Fills up the voids, and keeps the pain at bay.
Even if it's hard to see you move ahead,
I'll remember us, even if the ties are dead.
Saw you moving on, with him so close,
Our memories, fading like a dying rose.
Though our paths have diverged, each to its own bend,
I'm letting go, knowing this is the end.
Yours,
Dad
